Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Policy

The Caspian Journal of Intelligent and Mechatronic Systems (CJIAMS) recognizes the increasing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in research and academic writing. The journal permits the responsible use of AI under strict ethical and scientific standards, as outlined below.

Permitted uses:

  • Authors may use AI tools for language polishing, grammar correction, or improving readability and clarity of the manuscript.
  • AI may be used to refine scientific phrasing or assist in structuring text, provided that the final content is fully verified and approved by the authors.
  • The use of AI-assisted tools for code generation, data processing, or algorithmic support is acceptable, as long as the authors take full responsibility for verifying the correctness and originality of the outputs.

Prohibited uses:

  • AI systems (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, etc.) cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. Human researchers must take full accountability for all content.
  • It is strictly prohibited to use AI to fabricate, manipulate, or simulate data that do not exist in physical or computational reality.
  • Manuscripts entirely written by AI or based on AI-generated ideas without human intellectual contribution are not acceptable.
  • The creation or inclusion of AI-generated figures, experimental results, or visual data presented as real outcomes is strictly forbidden.

Transparency requirement:

  • Authors must explicitly declare in the Acknowledgments or Methods section any meaningful use of AI tools, including the name and version of the model or software employed, and describe how it was used (e.g., “for language editing” or “for code verification”).
  • The Editorial Board reserves the right to request additional details or documentation if needed to verify the authenticity of the work.
